Apparently, the markets are nervous over the prospect of a short term deal announcing the repetition of more of the same next February.
Apparently, two events could be interpretated that way. The first is the majority of GOP’s Republicans voted against the Senate bill. 136. And some may think – righteously – that this is not good news for the future. Sort of adjournment of the fight in February.
Second, Speaker Boehner said « the fight to defunded Obamacare is not over, instead, it continues ». How, under what leadership and in which terms, the future will tell.
My take is, having lost the game so hugely, Republicans have voted to avoid the Knock Out. A total reddition like the Senate did was beyond their strenghts. That is why they kept bombing the torse till the end.
Nonetheless, it was a swan song. As President insisted upon, this shutdown round is no more in sight. If this crisis bears a lesson, it will be this : Shutdown is unecessary and harmful to the American Standing and to the Global Economy. There are many other ways and door’s open for sounding political negotiations and policies. Common sense.
Really, American Senate deserves a thumb up here.
Congratulations to their New Elected Member : Cory Booker.
